The University Board and the International Relations and Student Services Team at Modul University Vienna are looking for an

International Academic Collaborations Officer (all genders)
 Full-time (40 h/w) in Vienna, Austria

who proactively discovers collaboration opportunities and in alignment with senior management, reaches out to academic institutions as well as research institutes to build relationships for student exchanges as well as other forms of academic collaborations. Discovers opportunities to engage in joint research projects, assists with conceptualizing and planning international events, assists with related administration (drafts agreements, acts as content lead for events, collaborates with the event and marketing teams to implement events). Assist with tracking and managing related budgets. Supports the university’s management with strategic projects related to internationalisation and potentially other areas projects fitting with the candidate’s profile.


CORE TASKS

  • Proactively discover, build, and maintain partnerships with academic institutions and research institutes
  • Discover opportunities to engage in joint research projects
  • Assist with conceptualizing and planning international events
  • Act as content lead for events in collaboration with academic staff
  • Track and manage related budgets
  • Depending on the competencies, contribute to / manage projects of strategic interest in the area of internationalisation and potentially other related areas
Your responsibilities
  • Enlarge the university’s international academic network by leveraging and expanding existing connections as well as forge new partnerships
  • In alignment with senior management, negotiate and facilitate the setting up of international partnership agreements to support academic and research initiatives
  • Inform academic administration about existing and emerging opportunities to be promoted to students and staff
  • Serve as primary contact for academic institutions as well as research institutes interested in engaging with the university
  • Develop itineraries and manage logistics for inbound and outbound visits and delegations, with attention to protocol and appropriate intercultural practices
  • Serve as contact for inbound international visitors, interact with and accompany visitors before, during, and after their visit
  • Evaluates existing partnerships, minimally on an annual basis, and recommends changes, expansions or discontinuation of agreements as appropriate
  • Act as content lead in collaboration with academic staff for events, and collaborate with the event and marketing teams to implement events
  • Manage related budgets and specific projects in collaboration with senior management and colleagues involved
Your profile
  • Experience in the academic / university environment, experience
  • Experience with working on international collaborations / projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Proven experience in the field of project coordination / project management
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
  • Integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (preferably native)
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and multitask
  • Proactive, agile and engaged attitude
  • Interpersonal and intercultural skills
  • Valid work permit in Austria
