Job position and department´s overview

Modul University Vienna is seeking an outstanding scholar for a Researcher position at its School of International Management in the broader areas of Quality management (QM) in higher education. The research area refers to systematic processes and practices aimed at enhancing the quality of education, research, and institutional services. It encompasses frameworks like Total Quality Management (TQM), quality assurance systems, accreditation, and performance measurement, all designed to meet the expectations of students, society, and regulatory bodies. The School of International Management seeks candidates whose research will be related to one or more of the main research areas of the School.

Your responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on quality management systems in higher education
  • Analyze and predict institutional data related to student performance, teaching quality, learning outcomes, governance, and student experience
  • Publish reports on the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality assurance frameworks and indicators
  • Study and publish reports on internal and external quality reviews, accreditation processes, and audits
  • Prepare research reports, policy briefs, and academic publications
  • Collaborate with academic staff, administrators, and external stakeholders on quality-related initiatives
  • Monitor national and international trends, standards, and best practices in higher education quality assurance
  • Participate in research projects, working groups, and committees related to institutional quality management
  • Present research findings at conferences, workshops, and internal meetings

Your profile

  • A completed Master in the field of human or social sciences, business or management studies with a focus on quality management, or a related discipline;
  • Strong background in quantitative and qualitative research methods;
  • Excellent analytical skills and evidence of the potential to undertake cutting-edge research;
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Further information

This is a full‐time, limited contract position where applicants are prepared to work up to 40 hours per week (with overtime hours). The position remains open until filled; the review of applications will commence immediately after the announcement. Starting date: 15 April 2026.

The position is available as of 15 April 2026 for one year subject to extension based on mutual satisfaction. The starting salary is EUR 44,800 gross plus approx. 30% Arbeitgeberanteil (= contribution to the social security and pension fund paid by the employer according to Austrian Law.
